I don’t like the practice of the police strong-arming people into accepting cautions when no conviction would be likely. It’s all about the targets, not the law.

if he had had prior offences or cautions it would be taken further, if he was 20 or 30 years younger it would be taken further. this is the police being pragmatic and taking every case individually and in a serious and sensible manner.
