Delighted to see Brown announce plans to compensate low earners and the childless today.
Disgusted to see Cameron harping on as if his party’s policies would have done anything better for low earners. In PMQs today he is full of criticism for the PM changing his mind, and no retort to any of the points about his party’s stance on tax credits or rates. All he talks about is personal digs about Brown being weak; all Brown talks about is policy. I know which impresses me more.
Im glad that Brown has not thrown all labour values out the window here. I must say this saga hasnt made me confident over Browns ability at all. But does fill me with a good feeling that our backbenchers will not just follow the leader
So why the one year delay?
It’s not been a one year delay, the treasury committee has been discussing last years budget for a very long time, the debate which has reached national attention coincided with the committees report. It’s what they call a consultation I believe Jack.
Bollocks. This is voters telling MPs to unwind things and MPs then threatening to vote down Brown’s plans. It’s pretty far from consultation.
