Chess, anyone?
Congratulations to all newly-elected Birmingham City Councillors. I happened to be browsing through the Birmingham Conservatives website, and found a page containing lovely pictures of all Conservative Birmingham City Councillors, sorted by ward. I would encourage everyone to go and take a look – it appears not to have been updated with the new councillors yet, but please check back once it has been updated. Notice anything?
I wonder if any of the Conservative Group plays chess. Hmmm.

Did you know that Birmingham University were expelled from the Birmingham District Chess League (division 5) for not paying their subs this year? If you go here put my name in – if you know how to look you’ll find that a Birmingham Conservative councillor is also a very strong player and has played in the Birmingham District Chess League (Division 1).
i was always proud of the fact that i come from a multi-cultural city. oh well, it’s a shame that multi-culturalism isnt experienced as well in the conservative group.
The group is multi-cultural – the word you were looking for was multi-racial. Is this a guest post from David Williams (who was so poor on the doorstep when he canvassed my sister in Selly Oak a few years ago that it almost prompted her to go into politics)?
Well multi-cultral birmingham has chosen the Tories and sacked a few of our councillors. With blogs like this it’s not hard to see why.
Tom – at what point does your ideology spill over into self-loathing?
