Glitz?
I was not impressed to see that David Cameron has sent out the following message to his supporters:
“The glitz of G20 is over – now we must focus on Britain.”
G20 “glitz“? If he thinks trying to solve global issues by sitting down and hashing out agreements with world leaders is a pointless load of “glitz” and we should be concentrating instead on ourselves… well it reminds me of this really.

Was that all he wrote? I hope it wasn’t in letter format, else that would be a huge waste of paper.
He probably reckons Gordon Brown is gaining too much support from this summit, hosting it and all, so he’s attempting to erode said perceived support. Although sending it to his own supports is hardly an efficent way to achieve this, unless it’s some kind of campaigning call to arms or something. This must be some kind of preliminary action on his part, I’m sure.
He could also be trying to reinforce the support of one particular section of the Party, though I’m not quite sure which. It may well just be a general attempt to whip up the largest number of votes in the shortest time possible.
Overall, he could do better; much better and his statement, if he belives it, is pretty misguided.
Though I suppose all that’s really quite obvious. Personally I prefer the former explanation, but, then again I would, wouldn’t I?
I keep being reminded of Cameron’s famous youtube video, the first one he made, when his Conservative Party was still trying to find it’s feet. But that’s another story/argument, possibly, for some other time.
