Epic news, and slap-bang on target with Darling’s predictions if I recall.

Polls appear to be continuing to narrow also, which is tres pleasant.

I can’t remember who said it but this demonstrates that you can’t take the patient out of intensive care and shove him straight into the gym to work off the deficit. When will people realise that the national finances do not work in the same way as our personal/family accounts – the fiscal stimulus needs to continue.

Seems to be that the electorate are finally taking notice of that wisdom too eh?

Anyone else seen the latest YouGov poll? http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/voting-intention
Tory lead down to 2 points. This time next month we’ll be leading!

Just shows how much use the Conservative Party Conferences are, polls in favour of the Conservatives decreased during their last Conference too. Tthe recent Conference especially – Cameron’s “patriotic duty” to beat Brown, always thought Dave to be a little eccentric..but really

The whole “duty” thing concerns me slightly… sure, it is voter’s duty to vote, but no party has a duty to win… It all seems a little to close to self-righteousness and in turn to that fabled “born to rule” mentality.

Well, we’ll see what happens come May 6th

Conservatives may say what they like about running the economy but they can’t be trusted to run it in a way which protects front line services. That’s the bottom line. In Birmingham which is run by the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats is set to make 2,000 front line workers redundant in the next few months. This is despite employing a temporary schools chief who earned over £200,000 a year. Three of the senior members of the council earn more than the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Alongside this is the fact the Birmingham has the worst employment rates for any major UK city.
