Some good news, bar the local election results. In the past 24 hours or so, some 3,000 people have joined the Labour party, so much so that the website actually crashed for a brief while! I’m suspecting quite a lot of disenchanted Lib Dems were among them.

It wont last. Give it a year, year and a half. The tensions betweeen the tory right and Lib Dem left are too great. After a short honeymoon period the cracks will start to emerge, hopefully with a strong oppsition Labour party pushing them all the way.
I agree. There is a lot of talk of a fixed term parliament, but that makes no difference to there being a fixed term government.
I know a number of Lib Dems, not all of whom are left wing and none of whom are Social Democratic troublemakers, who are very unhappy at this.
This election has, at least, been good for getting people back into politics… even if it did land us with Tory government.
